Henties Bay is one of Namibia’s most popular holiday destinations and exudes an atmosphere of relaxation and peace. This sleepy coastal town with a population of just 2700 people comes alive particularly during the holiday season, but as it is nearly 500km away from the hustle and bustle of the Namibian capital of Windhoek, Henties Bay manages to stay un-congested and there is very little traffic to hassle visitors. The mild climate is another appealing attraction and further sets it apart from its country’s usually harsh arid and dry conditions. Henties Bay has a unique location and offers travellers the best of both the Namib Desert as well as the nearby ocean. Holidaymakers can enjoy fun in the sun on the beach as parts of it are closed to anglers, quad bikes, and vehicles ensuring that they are not disturbed or stressed out by any unwanted noise or distractions. For those who are a little adventurous and enjoy the company of other travellers, you can decide to stay at a Backpackers. Often having to share a room with others as well as costs, it is incredibly inexpensive. Often the best choice for those who may be just passing through or will be occupied for the majority of their day. It comes with the most basic amenities and is often formed as part of a bar or similar establishment. Not recommended for those who want privacy, this is best suited for those who wouldn’t mind meeting various other interesting travellers.
