Exploring Botswana with its striking natural beauty, open grassland, woodland, amazing rock formations, and astounding diverse fauna and flora is truly an unbelievable journey.

Serowe is one of Botswana’s largest traditional villages and is the perfect lay-over en-route to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Makgadikgadi Pans, and Maun. Within the village visitors have accommodation options which include lodges, guest houses, and a hotel. Lentswe Lodge is particularly a popular venue as it is situated on a picturesque hill overlooking the bushveld.

Explore the attractions of the endearing village by visiting the Khama Memorial Museum which shows the development of Botswana from the nomadic era of Khama the Great to the independence of Botswana in the Seretse Khama’s time and also houses the Bessie Head collection from this world famous writer. The Royal Cemetery which is located on Thataganyana Hill Ruins above the village meeting place is well worth a visit to get insight into the rich cultural heritage of Serowe.

Located a few kilometres from Serowe is the splendid Khama Rhino Sanctuary, a community project with the ultimate objective and dedication to protect and conserve endangered species, particularly the rhino. Enjoy an exciting drive tracking black and white rhino in a 4x4 vehicle, view other species of game such as zebra, lion and buck just to name a few, and marvel at the prolific array of bird species. Take a break under an ancient Baobab tree and have a picnic while relishing the untouched wilderness and breathtaking sunsets. Serowe is a dazzling picture of unspoiled culture and natural beauty and place that reflects the essence of Botswana in a significant manner.
