The legendary city of Cape Town like any famous city has a distinctive divide that separates it into the Southern and Northern suburbs. While distinctions are usually made in the form of physical landmarks, Capetonians will tell you that what separates the north from the south is an imaginary line they call the ‘Boerewors Curtain’; while language appears to be a dividing factor – in the north they speak Afrikaans and down south they speak English – this is generally considered a sweeping generalisation these days. For those who are a little adventurous and enjoy the company of other travellers, you can decide to stay at a Backpackers. Often having to share a room with others as well as costs, it is incredibly inexpensive. Often the best choice for those who may be just passing through or will be occupied for the majority of their day.
