Wellington steeped in 300 years of history and tradition, captivates the hearts of all its visitors. The town is an architectural jewel with many Cape Dutch and Victorian buildings. The Wellington Museum features the local winemaking, leather and fruit farming industries. Wellington is renowned for its educational institutions, particularly the Cape Technikon and the Huguenot College.

The South African Dried Fruit industry was founded here in 1890, and still has its headquarters in the town. You can visit the SAD shop for its fine products. Gourmets can also sample the delights of local olives and olive oil, berries, sauces and jams.
