A stunning waterfront property located at Sedgefield on Sea, Knysna’s most extensive unspoilt beach, this is a magical holiday destination for families or couples. At the water's edge on the Sedgefield estuary, and 200m from the beach, we can accommodate 10 guests in 4 lovely double rooms, all with water views. Self catering for the whole house, or bed and breakfast on request. With a breathtaking outlook across the Sedgefield lagoon and the Swartvlei Estuary, this property has one of the most superb positions on the Garden Route.

In Room Facilities:

The accommodation includes 4 double rooms, 3 en-suite. The Lake waterfront room sleeps 2 - queen bed - with doors to the deck and a full family ensuite bathroom with bath, generous shower, basin and toilet. This bathroom has an interleading door to the passage, for shared use by the Lagoon room. The Lagoon waterfront room sleeps 2 - twin singles or king double - with doors to the deck and shares a bathroom with the Lake Room. The Sunset room sleeps 2 (ensuite, shower, basin, toilet) in twin singles or king double and has water views. The Garden Room - a family suite (ensuite, shower, basin, toilet) - can be configured as a king-double with 2 singles for a family or with 4 singles as a bunkroom for kids. This room has water views and patio doors to the garden.

Area Information:

Sedgefield lies at the centre of the Garden Route lakes district at the estuary of the major Swartvlei Lake, a mecca for fishermen and water sport enthusiasts. Surrounding indigenous woodland offers magnificent walking, hiking, and mountain biking. The bird list is impressive, and hang gliders float like butterflies from the hill tops. A short course provides for the golfers and abseiling, scuba diving, and surfing can be enjoyed close by. Nearby Buffalo Bay is the safest beach in the southern Cape, and smaller children can enjoy the tranquil waters of the Sedgefield lagoon, while parents relax close by on the beach. It is a paradise for all.

Mountain Bike the hills around Sedgefield, George and Knysna and even enjoy the ‘Power Van’ which takes you and your bikes up the train tracks to the peak above George for you to enjoy the ride back to town.
Water ski on the lagoon infront of the house!
Fish from the shores below the house or from the dinghy provided
swim in lagoon or sea. If the mouth is open, float in on the tide!
Kayak the lagoon or one of the many rivers and estuaries in the area
Beach and Coastal walks are very enjoyable along the dune or hill paths and birdwatching is very popular
Ride the Outeniqua Choo Choo Train
Paraglide from the Sedgefield, Gericke or Wilderness launch points with breathtaking views over the Garden Route
Kite Surfing along the coast is becoming increasingly popular and is even possible on the lagoon directly infront of the house!

Beach Picnics.
Surfing is enjoyed at nearby Victoria and Buffalo Bay.
And nearby, the Knysna Elephants, Storms River Bungy Jump, abseiling the Heads, Monkeyland, Birdworld, Canopy Trails and MORE.

Weekly on Saturday the Garden Route descends on Sedgefield to attend the Wild Oats Farmers Market where you can buy locally grown produce and homemade foods. The permanent Scarab Craft Market is now housed in a charming setting alongside and offers a wide variety of home crafted goods. Other markets are scheduled between Wilderness and Plettenberg Bay every week.
