In Room Facilities:

The chalets consist of a King bed, with the option of adding an additional 2 single beds per room for children. There is an en-suite bathroom which consists of a shower. The chalets are free standing for additional privacy and scattered throughout the well-maintained gardens. Paths through the gardens lead to the main lodge facilities.

The self-catering family cottage is a self-contained unit consisting of a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower and toilet, with a main bedroom, kitchenette, and outside barbecue facility. There is also a spacious loft upstairs equipped with additional beds of up to 4 single beds. All rooms are air-conditioned.

Area Information:

Our lodge is best suited for family groups looking to get away for a while and regroup, or couples wanting to spend some quality time together in a tranquil and relaxing environment. Bivack is a small, unassuming lodge that prides itself on simplicity and appreciating the wilderness from a new perspective. Take a game drive with our knowledgeable guide who will introduce you to the small intricacies of nature that often go unnoticed; track an elephant who may paid us a midnight visit; or take a night drive to discover the nocturnal life that surrounds us in our sleep with the chance at spotting Porcupine, spotted Hyena, or the ever elusive Leopard!

Property Facilities:

The main area consists of a communal lounge and dining area, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. We offer self-catering accommodation at this stage, although meals can be booked prior to arrival. There is also a communal swimming pool for the warm summer days.

Attractions:

Limpokwena has over 350 recorded bird species which would keep any keen birder occupied for hours. Along with the colorful array of bird species, a regular sighting from the banks is a number of Nile Crocodiles that spend their day’s sun tanning on the shores.

The reserve borders Botswana on the northern side, with the state veterinary fence dividing the property. From a vantage point on the mountains, it is possible to look Botswana’s Thuli Block, which emphasizes the vast spaces and natural wilderness.

We had a great stay for 5 days at Limpokwena.
The family cottages offered everything we needed and we enjoyed the already burning fireplace outside, when we returned from game drives.
The hosts did everything to make this a great experience, also for the kids. They organized not only game drives, but also sun downers, fishing, braai's and bush walks, which was a very special experience.
The other special thing about the place is, that there is open wildlife without fences (exept the fence around the camp). That means that all animals you see can move freely between ZA and Botswana, what makes it much more exciting than driving around in one of the big “ zoo’s”.
If you are a real nature lover, this is the place to be.
Syanne an Reighley, thank you so much for making our stay a great experience, we will never forget.
We certainly come back, when we ever get the change again.

We enjoyed our stay! There is nothing really to complain about.
Everything was as promised. Game in abundance. Birds in abundance.
Rooms are nice and big.
We shall certainly go there again.
