Ombo Rest Camp is situated 12 km north of Okahandja, on the Hochfeld Road. This unique environment is home to a variety of animal- and bird species, and can be viewed at our waterhole while enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
The rest camp provides the ideal stopover for a relaxed and peaceful stay, ideal for couples or families, as this is a child-friendly environment. Our restaurant is open daily and serves an a-la-carte menu with a range of meat dishes, as well as freshly baked cakes every day. Go on our ostrich and crocodile tours, where you can feed and touch the ostriches.
We offer two Family Bungalows, a Two-bedroom Bungalow, two Double Bed Bungalows and two Self-catering Bungalows; all fully equipped (dishes, cutlery, etc. can be rendered on a refundable deposit) and includes air-conditioning, barbecue area in front of the bungalows, and safe parking in front of each bungalow. We also have three Backpacker Rooms, each with two single beds and shares the ablution facilities on the camping grounds. The Backpacker Rooms do not have linen, but this can be arranged on arrival. There is a large campsite with warm-water showers and flushing toilets in the ablution facilities. Each campsite has a power point and a lovely braai area with shade and grass.
All overnight guests can make use of the barbecue facilities in the camping grounds as well as the swimming pool. From the bungalows, and restaurant, you will be able to view our springbuck, waterbuck, ostriches, giraffes and warthogs at the waterhole. For those staying longer than a day, daily laundry services are available.
Our farmstall provides barbecue packs, firewood, ice, soft drinks and homemade products like biltong, droëwors, smoked meat, honey, jams and a variety of juices. We also have a souvenir shop where you can purchase a reminder of your visit to us and our beautiful country.
Our A-la-Carte Restaurant is opened daily. Dinner is served on request.
