Breathtaking views of the Afromontane forests are complemented by the sophisticated, contemporary decor of Melton Manor. The welcoming U-shape and 4 en-suite bedrooms of this safari villa are cleverly designed around the central courtyard and its large, inviting, crystal clear swimming pool.

The Manor’s 4 bedrooms offer a private getaway with a large veranda, enormous beds and a butler hatch for an undisturbed morning service. Generous bathtubs and large windows provide uninterrupted bush-veld views. The interactive farm-style kitchen encourages you to try your hand at combining flavors under the guidance of your personal chef. Share meals and laughter and your stories around the farmhouse table in the fresh air of the terrace.

Our Activities

There is a private safari vehicle with ranger and tracker on hand to offer you a completely flexible itinerary for daily game drives, nature walks, big game walking safaris (tracking white rhino, black rhino, elephant and buffalo on foot) and fishing. When not out exploring the reserve relax and spend the afternoon hours in the library enjoying a quiet session with a book, relax around the pool or have some fun with the large collection of board games that are available.

The Old buildings, the stunning churches and Cathedral, the history and the National Arts Festial.
The roads are full of potholes, everything closes very early during the weekend.
During fest, the Long table is a very good place for dinner!

Grahamstown is a lovely town but the terrible potholes and lack of water in town is a huge problem for visitors and residents alike. My sons are students at Rhodes University and struggle immensely with the bad water supply and as they call it "water shedding" as they sometimes go up to three days days at a time without water
