The British Columbia town of Golden has been aptly named for many reasons. Firstly, as it was used as a base by Major Rogers, it was named Golden City to compete with the rival Silver City nearby; later Golden City was shortened and simply became Golden. Golden has one of the most incredible scenic kaleidoscopes found throughout British Columbia as it is nestled between two of the most stunning national parks in the region - the Glacier National Park and the Yoho National Park.
The natural aesthetic infusions from both these parks are profound on Golden as the town is a breathtaking assortment of rocky mountainous terrain, glacier sculptures, and pristine landscape. Extreme outdoor adventure is very much the order of the day with a range of high octane and adrenaline pumping activities on offer.
