We wanted a lodge that we would feel comfortable taking our 2 year old, and we found it. Staff were amazing, food very good & they organised a private drive for my boy’s 1st game drive so we could enjoy as a family. Thank you & will be back soon.
Do you want to see the big 5 then this is the place for you, at very reasonable prices compared with other Game Lodges in the area. It is easy to find, very welcoming & has every amenity you require. They held the evening drive on our arrival as we were running a few minutes late - so worth it. In our 2 day stay we went on every drive we could - our guides were superb & knew their business, but as with all these things luck needs to be on your side too! We saw everything we desired & more.....can't wait to go back.
Best value for your money with very experienced guides. Guides were superb & staff were very friendly.
My tour group from the USA could not stop raving about the excellent game viewing, high standard of service, comfort and great food. In my own experience, the game drives are excellent and the staff ALL go the extra mile in every aspect. I am so glad I found Bayala and most definitely recommend it to any of my colleagues and travel agents.
The lodge is located in a beautiful area, already the road towards the lodge there are lots of giraffes, warthogs, impalas and other animals. The place is just renovated and it looks stunning. The staff is very kind and extremely helpful.
We did one game drive with Walter and that man truly has a passion for nature and the animals. He knows animal tracks from earlier in the morning or day and from there finds the animals. Sadly we couldn't find the cheetah, but Walter spotted a leopard in a tree (no one else managed to see it even when he told us where to look). He drove us very close and it was a beautiful sighting. He was very happy after and even singing! If you want to spot animals, this is the place to go. It is a huge area and the animals are really free and everywhere.
The rooms of the lodge are fine, everything is present, clean and has just been renovated. There is swimming pool, but the water is a bit cold this time of year. We absolutely loved the photo on the wall above our bed.
The food is extremely good, the breakfast you can choose what you want aside from a continental breakfast. The dinner is a 3 course meal, choice from 2 starters, buffet as a main course, and choice of 2 desserts.
We had some misunderstandings with our booking agent and Judy helped us out with everything. She is very kind and give us some nice tips for on the road towards our next stay.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, we loved it here. The game drives are really great!
One of the best lodges in RSA run by genuine hoteliers with both a love and passion for the industry. You are never just a number here you are Family. Every one knows your name and remembers you till your next visit. A must on anyone's bucket list.
Bayala Game Reserve is well worth a visit. I recommend you visit as soon as possible. This game lodge is newly renovated and a wonderful conservation story. It used to be a hunting lodge.
The style of the original accommodation has not changed and reminds me of game reserves that I visited as a young adult.
Although only three/four star accredited the rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
The dining room and inside outside bar area and dining facility outside are absolutely beautifully decorated.
The scenery is sublime. It is a great place to bring children and young families.
It would make the most superb facility for a wedding or important celebration.
The staff are friendly and accommodating the menu is great with something for everyone's palate.
The game drives offer you a five star experience.
Superb value for money.
Well what an unbelievable experience. From the superb welcome at Bayala, the comfort of the newly refurbished bedrooms, the delicious food - the whole experience was first class. The game drive was exceptional and we saw all the Big Five - see the pictures! Cannot recommend this establishment enough.
It has just been taken over and refurbished - it has everything you need from a game lodge at very affordable prices. The staff are so accommodating also and nothing is too much trouble.
I will definitely be back and will book early to secure my room
Well done guys - a unique South Africa safari experience at incredibly competitive rates.
Wow wow wow....what a game drive! Two leopards, white and black rhino. The improvements are great and same friendly staff with awesome food. Well done and i see more upgrades coming soon. Cant wait to come back.
We arrived and received a hearty welcome from Dave, the Lodge Manager. We experienced a spectacular storm. Us and other guests gathered on the steps taking photos. We experienced wonderful hospitality by all staff. A worthwhile affordable Family weekend.
