The off street parking and privacy of our room was an added bonus. The bed was extremely comfortable! We will be back!

It was my first time back to Makhanda (I grew up knowing it as Grahamstown) after 20 years, this time with my family. We spent a week in town, attending the Arts Festival. Ros was superb from my first contact with her. We felt right at home from the time we walked in to our cottage, which was prepared 'to the T'. Room service was excellent, the quaint garden was manicured to perfection, and great care was taken to ensure our comfort at every point. What a special place – Thank you Ros. It was the best family stay ever!

A beautiful garden setting takes you to home away from home accommodation -everything one needs from beautiful linen, electric blankets, a fire place, fully equipped kitchen and best of all a spotless bathroom! Ros was so accommodating in respect of changes made and true Makhanda hospitality and friendliness made for the perfect stay - close to schools and university too!

Inside, the room was very comfortable and clean - it more than met my expectations. The problem was how to get inside, when the gate intercom was broken and the front gate doorbell didn't work. It caused huge frustration! One shouldn't have to root around for telephone numbers on arrival

The Old buildings, the stunning churches and Cathedral, the history and the National Arts Festial.
The roads are full of potholes, everything closes very early during the weekend.
During fest, the Long table is a very good place for dinner!

Grahamstown is a lovely town but the terrible potholes and lack of water in town is a huge problem for visitors and residents alike. My sons are students at Rhodes University and struggle immensely with the bad water supply and as they call it "water shedding" as they sometimes go up to three days days at a time without water

Beautiful old buildings to visit! The terrible streets full of potholes make this 5 star town unfortunately a 3 star place!
